what we do image
Vicky Thompson Occupational therapy Services provides specialist assessment, recommendation, training, support and advice for individuals with mobility limitations. I work in many different settings including schools, care homes and residential settings, hospitals and places of work to provide bespoke, client centered intervention.  I believe good posture is the foundation of function, it provides the platform to help us do what we need to be able to do...

Achieving good posture helps us to breathe easily, digest food better and communicate more effectively. It helps us to do want we need to be able to do. Over the years I have worked with many individuals with physical disabilities and complex health needs. Unfortunately many of these individuals had developed secondary complications such as postural deformities, twisted spines, dislocated hips, and muscle contractures. Evidence tells us that these secondary complications can be preventable, but only with the right intervention and support.

My goal for individuals with mobility limitations is, to facilitate maximum function and protect body shape to encourage good health and well-being.  This can be achieved by:
  • working in partnership with the individual, family and carers to achieve the desired outcome
  • providing in-depth postural analysis
  • identifying the best equipment required for 24 hour postural support
  • providing tailored training, support and education for the individual, family and cares.
  • providing regular reviews to ensure the best outcomes.
I believe this goal is achievable when we can work together, to improve lives.
